Welcome to our ParenTalk short course on Autistic Spectrum Disorder and what that means for you, your family, and your child. Course Description:
Module 1 – Understanding the ASD Diagnosis
We will talk about:
- What Autistic Spectrum Disorder means
- Developments in Neurodiversity and how these developments will support your child
- Where the supports are and how early intervention settings and school can help your child’s development
Module 2 – Supporting Communication
You will learn:
- About the importance of communication for your child
- How you can support your child to develop communication skills
- How to help with building your child’s communication repertoire
- What you can do if your child is showing frustration
Module 3 – Supporting Social, Emotional and Sensory Development
You will learn:
- How to support your child’s social development
- How to support your child’s emotional development
- How to support your child’s sensory needs
